Armpit Stain remover

Oxiclean Versatile Stain Remover Pounds

Oxiclean Versatile Stain Remover Pounds

Deodorants containing aluminum (almost all of them) mixes with sweat and gives you that yellowish or darker stained pits on your shirts. A little googling and this is what I've come to realize. I have never used oxiclean but have always heard of it and have heard of people using it.

I decided to get the powder version because not only can I use it in the laundry but I thought it would be good for its other oxygenated properties (have yet to try)

I did not go through the hassle of presoaking in a 5 gallon bucket or anything, and simply added the oxiclean in the water with laundry detergent. Let the clothes sit for about 10 minutes and then started the machine. I didn't get my hopes up because I was trying this out on my work-out shirts, but to my surprise the stain was almost gone and more importantly the slight body odor that the washer just couldn't get out on its own was nearly gone as well. Really impressed. One thing I was worried about was the fabric where the stain was may appear to have "thinned" a little. I think this might just be an illusion and the area may be a slight discoloration instead.

I have since tried this on my darker shirts with much success as well. It did boost the cleaning power all the way around as mentioned the stain and smells were nearly gone, so for that it gets 5 stars. I will be trying this out on some soiled car rags, as well as rags used after waxing (The washer has never been able to really get the wax smell out of them) and will post an update with the results.

  1. I used Oxi Clean for a while just as I would any other laundry detergent because I was told it was so good at getting stains out. I didn't have a whole lot of success though until I started making a heavier concentration and soaking clothes in that. This worked great. There are still a few types of stains that are hopeless and I don't think it's worth it really to use Oxi Clean as a regular detergent, but it is prime for soaking clothes to get rid of stains.

  3. I always took those infomercials with a grain of salt. I had given up using bleach because it would make me itch for some reason. I broke down and tried this product just looking for something to get my white socks white again. After just one use I was hooked. My socks looked better than when I used bleach on them and it really will take the stains out of colors without doing the fabric any damage.

It doesn't require much added to a load of laundry to get results. A tub of this will go a long way. Yes it will cost more than using bleach, but I feel it works much better and NO MORE ITCH!

  4. I have found quite a few uses for this product so far. I was able to clean my white sneakers the next day after I got them muddy, they looked brand new! I was also able to scrub out a tomato sauce spot after work that I got on there at lunch.

I would recommend this product to everyone that's looking to clean up nearly anything, safely.

  5. I bought this to get deodorant stains on the armpits of my shirts. Put simply, it works for this purpose. I soak the shirts in a bucket with a scoop of oxyclean mixed with about 1 to 1.5 galons of water for about a day. I also moisten some oxyclean to a paste and rub it onto the stained areas before soaking. I also tried this method on a stain of unknown origin that had been on one of my favorite shirts for years. It was barely noticeable, so I hadn't thrown the shirt out, but I didn't wear it out much either. I was pleasantly surprised that it got this stain out too. Billy Mays was onto something here - this stuff does work.

  6. This product makes a great stain remover. Somebody told me to soak things for hours or overnight to remove old stains, and it actually worked! I love this product. I do believe the package was meant to remain in the laundry room, not toted to the laundromat. The bad review had nothing to do with how well this product works, just the packaging. I did see that you can buy it in a zip-top bag, which may be better if you do have to take it to a laundromat.

  8. I had leaf stains on my fairly new concrete driveway that wouldn't come off even with a power washer. I wet the area down, sprinkled Oxi Clean on and worked it in with a stiff broom. After rinsing it off about ten minutes later the stain was gone. Very satisfied.

  9. This stuff works amazing on my whites! I am never washing with bleach again, Oxiclean gets my whites white unlike the dingy yellow bleach can make them. I always hesitated about buying white shirts but not anymore. So happy with this product. If you have a particular tough stain (like arm pit stains) definately pre-treat first, you will be happy you did.
