I wasn't really sure I would enjoy this book as I was nervous about the character of Danny, as I am not much into make-up wearing, feminine men. I shouldn't have worried, Danny was a fabulous character! I loved his flamboyant nature and his honesty. Lance, on the other hand, took a while to grow on me due to his behaviour when he first met Danny.

The story is a wonderful evolution of feelings, one man coming to terms with his sexuality and the other realising his sexual attraction to the other is actually more. However love isn't enough, as each man realises that the other doesn't really fit into their view of what they want their life to be like. Danny wants to be out and proud. Lance wants to protect his chances at an NFL career.

I should have realised from the blurb but I got a shock at the 78% mark when something (not saying what as it's a bit of a spoiler) happened. Thank goodness they had their happy ever after with true romantic gestures!

Meguiars G6207 Black Wax

Meguiar's is the only car wax we have ever used since the 1970's. Meguiar's has been around since 1901, and they not only know what they are doing when it comes to making the best wax for cars, but they make the longest lasting wax that will literally keep water beading up on your car for a full year. I know this for a fact, as we wax our cars at the end of every summer and the water is still beading up on the car a year later when we give it a new waxing.

We usually use Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Paste Wax which costs around $11.00, and if we have more money to spend, we on occasion buy Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax which costs around $21.00. They are both superb paste waxes, very easy to put on with the enclosed sponge pads on a cool day, out of direct sunlight and very easy to rub off when dry with a clean white terry cloth towel. Liquid waxes are not nearly as good as paste waxes, as we find the paste waxes last way longer, are shinier and are easier to apply.

Trying this new Meguiar's Black Wax on our two black cars, I was skeptical if it would be as good, as it is not a paste wax in a can. I found it is also not a liquid wax either, as it is in a tube with a consistency of a thick gray toothpaste- not as thick as wax, but definitely not liquid. It does not dry as quickly as a paste wax, so you have to wax the entire car before wiping the wax off. We did use the same type of sponge pad to put the wax on, also on a cool day, out of direct sunlight, and wiped it off with a clean white terry cloth towel- exactly the same way we use a paste wax.

When we were finished, we had the same great shine that Meguiar's Paste Wax gives our car, with one main difference- there is a definite super reflective mirror finish- exactly like you see in a Car Showroom- so super high gloss- you can see yourself in it! Since we tried it on black cars, my brother asked if he could try it on a navy and dark green car. He did and he got the same super high gloss Showroom Shine- so we know any dark color car will get the same gorgeous mirror shine that our black cars get from this Black Wax. We found out, there are no dyes or colorants in this wax, so it is safe for any dark colored cars. Just make certain your car is a glossy color and not a flat or matte color, as this wax only works on glossy cars. For dark colored cars, this wax simply makes your car look as good as the day it came off the Showroom Floor and it will stay this gorgeous for a full year, making it a GREAT 5 STAR WAX!

Summer France prequel Bunny ebook

I am such a huge fan of this author having already read the sequel to this book the hilarious memoir Bunny on a Bike and her fabulous psychological thriller My Grandfather's Eyes.
In this prequel to Bunny on a Bike we read the memoir of Bev as she and her best friend Carol manage to wrangle a grant from their university to take an educational (errm!) trip to France one summer.
I simply galloped through this book it was so engaging, hilarious and nostalgic, all in perfect measure. Bev has such a skill for writing and recounting the many things that those of us of a certain age will certainly relate to. It harps back to the days when sun protection was a bottle of vegetable oil with patchouli oil in it and a balanced diet meant adding jam to your ambrosia rice pudding. It reminds me of my youth, although I'm not over the hill just yet! When naivety, charm and in Carol's case outright honesty were all forgiven when you flashed a goofy smile.
I can't recommend this book highly enough for a feel good, funny read written by a very talented writer.

I love this little thing

Vera Bradley Zip Case Bloom

I did not buy this product off of Amazon, I bought it off of the VB website. I would suggest doing this because they have sale patterns and you can get these for much cheaper! Anyways, I have had a zip i.d. case for about 4 years now and I JUST replaced it. I didn't even have to really, I just wanted a new one that didn't look as worn as mine did. But I can attest to the durability of these handy things! It is so convienient to have on my keychain so I don't have to go through my wallet searching for my license or credit cards. One big reason I looked into buying an ID case was because when I was in high school, I had my wallet stolen. Not only was money taken, but my license was gone as well! Being in high school at the time, when you have to get your license renewed more often, I was not pleased about losing my license when I just got it done. I had to go through the entire process of going to the DPS, paying more money, etc. So, the point of my sob story was that if I had had one of these in the first place, I wouldn't of had to replace my license! Having my license in here is great as well if I just need to make a quick errand run and I don't want to lug around my purse. I haven't tried to fill this to full capacity but you could definitely get a good amount of cards in here, I'd probably say 15 or so. I usually have my license, student I.D., a few other random cards, and a Burt's Bee's chapstick in here; zips up perfectly. It is also made very well and I like the "industrial" type ring that goes onto your keychain.

First, let me say that I am VERY picky about my lip balm. I thoroughly critique every kind I buy and over the years I've pretty much determined that Vaseline is the best for taste-free, long-lasting protection. My only complaint about Vaseline is that it is very oily and can look too lip-glossy after you first apply it.

So when I say that this product is "about as good as Vaseline" that actually a pretty significant compliment in my book. Here's a quick rundown of what to love about it.

PROS:
- Long-lasting protection
- No fragrances or tastes
- Flat, waxy coating that doesn't look embarrassingly glossy
- Good-sized tub that will last a long time

My only con is the tin it comes in. Although there's nothing actually wrong with it, the size is nice and compact, but I just prefer using a tube. Not a big complaint, but it is something to consider if you feel the same way I do.

OVERALL: Competitively-priced and one of the best products to put on your lips. I highly recommend it!

A Must Have

Kiehls Scented Lip Balm Vanilla

I've been using this product for over 10 years and have only good things to say. It's one of the only lip balms I'm not allergic to and it actually works. It was originally referred to me by a tv makeup artist and I can't leave the house without it. I wear it everyday either by itself or under lipstick. Unfortunately I'm allergic to almost every lip product but wearing Keihls underneath helps a little.

I have a tube of the lip balm wherever I go, 3 in my pocketbook, 1 at my desk, 1 by my bedside...I think you get the idea. My friends and family use it as well.

The scented ones are great but my favorites have been discontinued. Boo! I have one coconut lip balm left and I use it sparingly.

For the review that states Vaseline is better I disagree, Vaseline alone does not work for me.

Oxiclean Versatile Stain Remover Pounds

Deodorants containing aluminum (almost all of them) mixes with sweat and gives you that yellowish or darker stained pits on your shirts. A little googling and this is what I've come to realize. I have never used oxiclean but have always heard of it and have heard of people using it.

I decided to get the powder version because not only can I use it in the laundry but I thought it would be good for its other oxygenated properties (have yet to try)

I did not go through the hassle of presoaking in a 5 gallon bucket or anything, and simply added the oxiclean in the water with laundry detergent. Let the clothes sit for about 10 minutes and then started the machine. I didn't get my hopes up because I was trying this out on my work-out shirts, but to my surprise the stain was almost gone and more importantly the slight body odor that the washer just couldn't get out on its own was nearly gone as well. Really impressed. One thing I was worried about was the fabric where the stain was may appear to have "thinned" a little. I think this might just be an illusion and the area may be a slight discoloration instead.

I have since tried this on my darker shirts with much success as well. It did boost the cleaning power all the way around as mentioned the stain and smells were nearly gone, so for that it gets 5 stars. I will be trying this out on some soiled car rags, as well as rags used after waxing (The washer has never been able to really get the wax smell out of them) and will post an update with the results.

I have a fair complexion and my lips, when bare, tend to wash me out. I recently moved to Wisconsin, and the artificial heat dried out my lips, so I went hunting for a tinted lip balm (in a tube- I prefer not to apply things from pots, like Benefit's tinted balm, which has a rose scent I'm not crazy about anyway and is not particularly long-lasting). I am very impressed by this product (I bought this in Poppy, a nice red-pink hue)-- it moisturizes well without being sticky and it provides just enough color without being a lip stick. It's something you'll want to have in your jeans pocket when you go to a concert, or in your purse for a night out. As for its wear, I'd say I have to put it on every 4 hours or so, which I think is fair, especially because you don't need to look in the mirror, really, to apply.

I also bought Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment, which is considerably thick, and good to apply before bed, but the tint is very faint. Tarte 24.7 lip sheer, was also one of my purchases. While I do like the product, but is highly pigmented, far closer to a lipstick than a sheer. If you're looking for a product that is a high quality tinted chapstick, I highly recommend this product.

I just bought these. They are excellent. The colors are NOT just the same old super bright fuchsia pink from the 80's. They all have a subtle change of color on me. Keep in mind that your body pH will determine the color but overall, I love them. I really thought I would like the green color the best because it would be the brightest but it isn't. It is a very subtle pink/nude color. Orange, pink and brown are to my liking much more. The orange is fairly bright and on trend for this summer. Pink is a nice pink that would look good on almost every skin and the brown is similar to a bright nude/pink. Love them! And for less than $10, it is so worth the money. Oh yes, almost forgot...they also have a nice pearl sheen to them. I wish they had the ability to add photos because I have one that shows the color of each on my inner arm. And the staying power of them seems great. I haven't tested the wear out but it took makeup remover for it to come off my arm! Best lip stain lipstick so far!

You could search for years to find a literary character like Misty and NEVER succeed. Allison is one of the few authors who can write books that I love with a character that I hate. I know I know, hate is a strong word... so let me see if I can find something else... Nope. Hate works for me. I HATE, HATE, HATE Misty. This crazy chick is up to to her usual grime and deviant nature. I think what makes Misty so bad is that she doesn't try to hide her dirt; it's done right in front of your face. This modern day pimpstress has lost her main bread winner and is looking for someone else, actually a few someone else's'. This chick picks up dudes from Burger King, steals them from a man-queen's harem, recruits her very reluctant body guard into her repulsive debauchery, and test drives more guys than Madonna in her heyday. With her special brand of "Misty Mayhem" you know girlfriend has made some enemies. Got that right! I'm not going to tell you WHAT happens, but hell... I laughed.

The graphic sex is something that I look forward to when I read Allison's books, even if it does have maniac Misty in it. She's overpowering and seems to have the knack to find the weakest men with the longest... uummmm... organs. Her audacity and gall is beyond measure and you really do catch yourself from throwing this book at the nearest mirror. I know I keep harping on Misty, Misty, Misty but that's because she is a trip and a third. She wants what she wants and she doesn't care, and I mean she REALLY doesn't care, how she gets it. Her vagina is a weapon and a tool, and apparently what she has is so good it causes men to lose their damn mind. Because they do. `Lipstick Hustla' is Allison in true form. Carnal, animalistic, a slow penetration that violates every single one of your senses, words that arouse, and phrases that cause you readjust your clothing or makes you change them all together. Also, do yourself a favor and read `Double Dippin' and `Big Juicy Lips' before you read this one. You will want/need to know about the origins of Mad Misty.

It's really beautiful

Michael Kors Hamilton Shoulder Tangerine

This was my first Michael Kors bag and when it first came I was surprised that the edges of the handle strap and around the top of the bag were so unfinished and the strap felt thinner/lighter than I expected (I have a lot of Coach bags), so initially I had mixed feelings. The color and the look of the bag are beautiful. But it's really grown on me. The pockets inside are big and very useful - it's easy to get my various cards in and out of the pockets, my sunglasses or cell phone. And it truly is a shoulder bag, which means it is very comfortable and convenient to carry. The only thing I would change now that I've been using it a month is I would not line any purse in a very light color. Invariably a cover comes off a lipstick or a wrapper off a candy and it shows easily, but fortunately that is just inside the bag. I get a lot of compliments on it and am very happy with it.

One Word: Incomparable

The Power Family David Weaver

I have to say, I am yet pleased again with David Weaver's work. I read this book in 2-3hrs (due to a co-worker bugging me)...lol. I enjoyed every bit of it and it left me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. The loyalty of the BRS is so deep, you can't understand it, unless you're in it. He builds these characters and we can relate to them so much in the areas of love, loyaty, honor, trust, and being betrayed by people we loved. The lengths that Kyla and Malcom go to be with one another is amazing. What you can expect from this book is another emotional roller coaster. I bought this bag because I struggle with mobility and needed something easy to keep close to my body, that functioned well, and still looked good. The Baggallini fit all of those requirements. I love it!!
It sits well on the body when standing or sitting, it is easy to clean if you are accident prone like I am, and it has plenty of pockets for quick storage that is easy to get to, and it looks good. One tiny complaint, I do wish there was a soft guard on the strap that could be adjusted to sit on your neck for long periods of wear, easy fix... put it under your collar.
I enjoy this bag so much that I intend to order one for my daughter and a couple more for myself to color coordinate my wardrobe. I also want to try the bigger bag!!

Covergirl Perfection Lipstick Temptress 0 12 Ounce

Let me start this by saying I'm not someone who likes most lipstick and therefore I don't venture out and try many brands.

I am a sucker for bright red lips (for the right occasion, or when I want to feel sexy) so when I saw Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick Hot 305, 0.12-Ounce in person, I had to try it. Despite how the picture shows it, this lipstick IS NOT sparkly. (I am thankful for that!)

This lipstick is bright, smooth and easy to apply. It stays much longer than I had hoped, and I'm very pleased that I don't have to continue reapplying it. This isn't one of those lip stains that dries your lips, it's a lipstick. It moisturizes and does wear off if you eat (not as much as a I expected, which is definitely a plus). If I go to wipe it off, my lips stay a little red, which I consider a good thing. If you're looking for a bright red, summery lipstick I highly recommend 305.

I recently saw Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick Delish 255, 0.12-Ounce in person, and decided to give the natural tone a try. I know that colors look different on everyone, but for me this one is a disaster. The way this color filled in the cracks of my lips it looked too artificial --which was the opposite of what I was expecting for a more natural hue. It appeared to be slightly orange making it look very strange on my face. However, it's so light and susceptible, that I just add a bit of my faithful 305 to get a muffled red that I'm happy with.

I love the shape of the containers, as they're easy to find when I'm digging around in my bag without looking. I love that the colors are easy to see without opening (the bottom of the container shows you the color clearly). Overall, I am happy with this brand and plan on purchasing more in the future.

The price, size and excellent Anker brand are elements of success. It suffers from slow transfer rates compared to other chargers with a 1.0 and not 0.8 charge speed. The 1.0 transfer rate chargers such as the RavPower 2600 or Photive iPhone 5 charger transfer at the same speed as a wall charger (even while in use). I own all of these. They are not as small which is a trade-off. When using the iPhone 5 over LTE and actively using this charger--the speed of charge is slow--you may remain at the same charge level without increasing percentage (or very slowly). When the LTE signal is pulling heavily (and the screen is in use) you can go down a percentage before you slowly go up or stay the same. It's akin to charging a 9.7 inch iPad--while in use--with the brightness up mid-way via a USB port on your computer. You must have your phone screen powered off for a quicker charge.

A timed test revealed that this fully-charged unit charged the iPhone 5 in 2h and 44m. The phone was initially dead, screen remained off (expect for notifications) and it was on Wi-Fi. The charger elicited an additional fifteen percent (on the same phone at another time) before dying. It takes 5h and 55m to charge the unit after full use. The 1.0 transfer rate chargers under the same test conditions took just two hours to charge the phone. Hopefully a charger this small with a 1.0 wall-like speed transfer rate is in the works because it makes a significant charging-speed-during-active-use difference. This unit will not work with any 9.7 inch iPad. My similar capacity 1.0 transfer rate units work with the large iPad and add up to twenty percent each (at a slow rate). Despite owning the two aforementioned faster chargers I carry this one in my pocket because it's the lightest and smallest.

Anybody that is considering a phone with a removable battery--just for that reason over an iPhone--should note that this charger is about the same size as a spare battery. For people that only use their pockets and want to minimize their items I found a terrific solution. I use the thinnest six-inch micro USB cable and purchased an iPhone 5 lightning-to-micro-USB tip attachment. I turned it into an iphone 5 compatible six-inch cord that slips into my wallet. This minimizes items in my pockets and secures the cord. Another concern people may have is the metal unit scratching their naked phone, screen or case. A simple taught rubber band applied to both ends provides a buffer. You can also wrap it with a thin layer of mailing tape or saran wrap with a bit of tape to hold it fast. Rubber bands provide enough traction to use the unit--lying down horizontally when facing you--as a stand while charging (or not) to view content (with the help of the lip of a bumper or non-slippery case). This provides an iPad smart-cover-like incline.

This external battery is about the size of an average size GPS unit. It's small enough to fit in your pocket but just barely. It's enclosed in a great looking black case with silver trim around the corners. The black case is smooth and shiny and looks great. It seems to be made very well and I think it could withstand some rough use. The case has a built-in LED light that comes in handy sometimes. The light isn't super bright but it's bright enough for what I need. One thing that is very unique about this external battery is that it has two USB ports on the top of it. This gives you the ability to charge two devices at once. I have used an external battery before but it didn't have the ability to charge two devices at once. This will come in extremely handy when my family goes to vacation. Everyone in my house has their own iPad so there will be some serious need for recharging during our upcoming 16 hour road trip. One of the ports charges at 2000 mAh per hour and the other charges at 1000 mAh per hour. You can charge many different devices with this battery and really anything that can plug into a USB port. I pretty much only charge our iPad's with it but it definitely has a lot of power. It will charge my iPad 2 over 1 1/2 full charges. It also has four blue LED lights on the front of it that tell you how much charge is left on the battery.

This external battery comes with a handy carry bag. The bag is gray with black pull strings. Both the interior and exterior are very soft. It's also large enough to hold the external battery and the various cords that come with it.

Anker stands behind this with a full 18 month unconditional return policy. Most products come with a 12 month limited warranty is that. That will typically mean that if it breaks within 12 months then they will repair or replace it for free. I don't know that I have ever seen a company say that you can return it for a full refund or replacement for up to 18 months. That is quite a guarantee. I wish all products came with this type of guarantee. My experience with this external battery has been a very good one and I would recommend it to others. I really haven't noticed a single thing about it that I would change.
